Read Claude answers on your Kindle

Choose an adjustable reading copy for prose or a PDF for page layout, then send the document to your Kindle library.

Coming soon to ChromeHow it works

To send an answer from Claude to Kindle, save it as Word or PDF, then use Amazon’s Send to Kindle. Choose Word for prose, or PDF when the arrangement of equations, tables, or diagrams matters.

Choose adjustable text or a fixed page

Amazon supports Word documents with adjustable text and PDFs with a fixed layout. Word suits paragraphs and lists because the text fits the screen. Microsoft’s guidance also recommends book-style formatting for simple documents on small screens.

A full-size report can be awkward on an e-reader. You can enlarge adjustable text without keeping the original line lengths.

Amazon also lists PDFs with adjustable layouts. Check the converted pages. Keep a fixed-layout copy when the original arrangement matters more than changing the text size.

Export the reply you want to read

Use DocMyChat’s export icon under the final reply to leave out abandoned drafts. Choose Export in the chat header when you want the whole discussion.

  1. Open the conversation at claude.ai in Chrome on a computer with DocMyChat installed.
  2. Open the export menu for the reply or conversation.
  3. Choose Word to download a .docx file.
  4. Open the file and check its contents.

For PDF, choose PDF, then Save as PDF in Chrome’s print dialog. Leave Include Claude’s thinking off. Turn off Include artifacts to omit the appendix. See the single-response guide for help selecting one draft.

Create a file without a browser extension

For one answer, use the free browser converters:

  1. Click Claude’s Copy button under the reply.
  2. Paste the text into the Markdown to Word converter or Markdown to PDF converter.
  3. Download the Word file, or choose Save as PDF for the PDF version.

This saves the copied reply. Keep the question separately if the answer depends on it. Check the document before sending.

Upload through Send to Kindle on the web

Amazon’s web upload instructions allow files of 200 MB or less.

  1. Open Send to Kindle.
  2. Sign in to the Amazon account linked to your Kindle.
  3. Select the exported document.
  4. Turn on Add to your library to access it on linked devices.
  5. Complete the upload.
  6. Download the document on your Kindle while online.

Amazon’s transfer guide lists PDF, DOC, DOCX, EPUB, TXT, RTF, HTML, HTM, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, and BMP. Use DOCX or PDF for the files exported here.

Use email or the Kindle apps

Email the file as an attachment to your device or app’s Send to Kindle address in Amazon settings. The sender must be on your Approved Personal Document Email List. Amazon’s email instructions allow attachments totaling 50 MB or less.

You can also use the Kindle apps for iOS and Android, or Send to Kindle apps for Mac and Windows. Amazon’s method overview explains both. Export on your computer first, then transfer the file.

Check code, tables, and formulas

The Word export contains native Word equations and formatted code. Amazon converts the file afterward, so compare code indentation, table columns, image labels, and fractions with the original. A missing minus sign matters more than a changed font.

If a table is too wide, make a narrower reading copy with one item per subsection. Amazon’s conversion tips flag complex tables as a problem. They also explain limits on handwritten annotations for mathematical content on Kindle Scribe. Those limits concern notes, so check separately that the equations themselves display correctly.

Use PDF to keep formulas and diagrams in their original page arrangement. Make sure they’re readable on your device before sending a long collection.

Make a study guide comfortable to read

Suppose your history study guide has ten rounds of corrections. Bring the final version together with a short title, topic headings, and corrected dates. Keep the questions that help you practice recall.

Send a sample first. Open Aa to try your usual font size and spacing in adjustable text. Amazon’s text-display guide lists options by model. Check a dense paragraph and a table before sending the full guide.

Put a date in each updated title. Download the document before leaving Wi-Fi, and keep the editable source for corrections.

Does this connect Claude to Kindle?

Sending a document doesn’t connect your Claude account to Kindle or sync later replies. Export and send a new copy when the answer changes.

Claude’s connectors are a separate way to give Claude access to apps. Sending this file doesn’t set up a connector.
