How to download every artifact in a chat

  1. Install DocMyChat for Chrome.
  2. Open the chat on claude.ai and click Export next to Share.
  3. Choose Artifacts. A .zip named after the chat downloads with all the files inside.

What Claude lets you download on its own

In claude.ai each artifact is handled on its own. Older chat artifacts have controls at the top of the artifact panel to view the code, copy it or download it. Newer artifact types — Docs, Slides and Design — have an Export button with formats such as Word, PDF and PowerPoint.

That works for one file. In a working session, though, Claude often writes a dozen: a script, its tests, a README, a config file, a revised version of each. Getting them all means opening every artifact and making sure it is the latest version.

What’s in the .zip

  • The latest version of every artifact and every file Claude created or edited in the chat. Earlier drafts aren’t duplicated.
  • Proper file names. A file Claude called parser.py stays parser.py. Untitled code gets an extension from its language — .py, .ts, .sql, .html.
  • No collisions. Two artifacts with the same name become notes.md and notes (2).md.

Artifacts inside PDF and Word

When you export the chat to PDF or Word with Include artifacts on, the same files are printed in an appendix at the end of the document. In the conversation, a short note marks where each one was created and how many versions it went through, so the document reads like the chat did.

Published artifacts and interactive widgets

Pages Claude published to a link appear in exports as that link. Interactive widgets can’t work inside a file, so documents mark where they were and say to open the chat to use them.

Questions

Can I download all Claude artifacts at once without an extension?

Claude’s interface downloads or exports artifacts one at a time. The Artifacts tab lists them in one place, but each is still opened and saved separately.

Does the .zip include old versions?

No, only the latest version of each file — the one you would keep. The version count is noted in PDF and Word exports.

Can I save an artifact as PDF?

New Docs artifacts have their own Export to PDF in Claude. For older artifacts and code files, export the chat to PDF with artifacts included — they appear in the appendix.
